Optometrist, Owner
Dr. Vuu grew up in Lynnwood, Washington (alongside 5 siblings) and attended the University of Washington, graduating with a B.S. in Speech and Hearing Sciences. She then continued on to earn her Doctorate at Pacific University, College of Optometry in Oregon. For the first 18 years of her career, she practiced in a refractive surgery clinic alongside some of the leading Ophthalmologists in the area. In addition to providing preop consults and postop care, she was one of the first Optometrists in Washington state performing LDD treatments for the new FDA approved Light Adjustable Lens (LAL) for Refractive Lens Exchange. Additionally, she has partnered with the FDA as an investigator in numerous clinical trials relating to LASIK eye surgery. Her honest, yet compassionate and meticulous approach to eye care is what sets her apart. She loves to educate her patients and give them tools to take ownership of and improve the quality and comfort of their vision and life.
Shortly after Optometry school, she went on her first medical mission trip, serving and supporting unreached communities in Vietnam where medical, dental and optometry care was scarce. The impact of the trip on her life and the lives of those receiving care compelled her to join her church's Missions Core Team for nearly a decade in supporting, leading and co-leading multiple medical teams into Vietnam and Cambodia. She met her husband on the Vietnam 2010 team and got married in 2014, gaining 3 wonderful children on the same day. A year later they welcomed a big bundle of joy that continues to be a reminder of how precious family and life are. They continue to share the same love in serving others, supporting ministries and organizations they believe in, and building relationships through different opportunities at home. At the beginning of 2022, an opportunity led them to take a step of faith to relocate to beautiful Snohomish where they eventually opened EYES on Lake Stevens.
Outside of work, she’s always craving some good family time (and wishes time would stop sometimes), likes to explore new things with her creative side (and so grateful for her husband who frees her up and gives her space to do this!), woodwork, garden, read a good book, laugh with loved ones over a good cup of coffee or take a walk/hike in the beautiful outdoors. She finds joy in creating meaningful things (and currently tackling the art of sourdough to share with others), and greater joy in being the hands and feet that would help touch and impact lives.
Optometrist
Dr. Tom grew up in the Southern California/San Gabriel Valley area and graduated from California State University of Fullerton with a B.S. in Biology. He then went to Illinois College of Optometry and graduated in 1984. He met his wife Rose in Chicago and worked in the Chicago area until 1990.
It was decided then to move back up to the west coast to be closer to family. They settled in the Seattle area and have been here since 1990. After working at his practice in the University District for 24 years, COVID hit and Dr. Tom decided to close his office. Dr. Tom currently works in the north end of the Seattle area doing fill-in work. He loves to go on Vision trips to other countries and has been to Nicaragua, Haiti, Senegal, India, Nepal, Ukraine, and Paraguay. He has three children and four grandchildren.
Optometrist
Dr. Megan Ebel happily chose Seattle to be her home in the summer of 2022. Prior to living in Washington, she resided in a handful of other states in the Midwestern and Southeastern United States, moving for her father’s military career in childhood and later to pursue educational and professional opportunities in adulthood.
Dr. Ebel’s first exposure to optometry was during her eighth-grade year when she was diagnosed with myopia and prescribed her first pair of glasses to see objects at a distance more clearly. In high school she was fitted for her first pair of contact lenses which she found more suitable for her athletic endeavors. Dr. Ebel did not give much thought about pursuing a career in optometry until after she completed her undergraduate degree. Her positive experience working as an optician gave her the motivation to apply for and complete her training at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee in 2015.
Dr. Ebel spent years working in various commercial optometry offices performing eye health exams and prescribing eyewear for both children and adults. She also spent several years working in a refractive surgery center offering patients pre-operative consultations and post-operative care for LASIK, PRK, SMILE, ICL, and lens replacement. Dr. Ebel loves empowering her patients with the knowledge and products they need to achieve good eye health and comfort, as well as help them achieve their visual goals now and for years to come.
When not in the clinic, Dr. Ebel loves going outdoors for hikes and long walks with her dog, Birdie, as well as attending live shows, including theater, standup comedy, and musical performances.
